Live Near Northern Ireland? Ride Horses? Get on an HBO production!

HBO has begun production in Belfast of Game of Thrones based on George R.R. Martin's award winning fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire.  Filming is due to take place in Northern Ireland in the last week of October and first two weeks of November.

Apparently, they urgently require CONFIDENT & EXPERIENCED MALE HORSERIDERS, aged 16-60.

(I have heard rumors that women who can rock a fake beard may also be considered.)

are you rocking a fake beard in your avatar Paul?

It's 100% ginger beard and dishwater blonde hair on me.  I'm a calico human.

Nothing wrong with ginger

Paul, do you know whether HBO will be working with the BBC like they did on the series 'Rome' ?

Indeed I do!

From the information I have,  that's exactly what's happening.

If the series moves forward, the BBC will be providing some of the financing.

The good news that's related to this is that at the time of this writing all of the actors (with the exception of Peter Dinklage) are from the UK.

They're producing it at Paint Hall, and NI is giving them a great deal if they keep most of the production crew from the area.

A starring role for Sean Bean should ensure its success over here, with the ladies at least
